The short version. Remsy does not collect your personal data. There is no user account, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Your reminders never leave your device. Remsy contacts one outside service, RevenueCat, to check whether Remsy Plus is active on your store account (see section 5). Nothing else is sent anywhere.
1. Who we are
Remsy is published by Fenger Digital GmbH, the controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Fenger Digital GmbH, Wiesenstraße 6, 49074 Osnabrück, Germany.
Represented by Denis Fenger.
Email: info@softailed.com.
Full details on our Legal Notice page.
2. Data we do not collect
Remsy runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:
- your reminders ("nudges"), lists, or their contents
- your name, email address, or any account data (no account exists)
- your location, contacts, photos, or files
- usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers
3. Data stored on your device
Your reminders, completed items, and your settings (palette, language, app icon, notification label, the hours and preferred time of each part of the day, weekend days, weekend hours, and clock format) are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app permanently deletes this data. If you use the export feature, the backup is either written straight to the folder you pick or created inside Remsy's own private storage and handed to your device's share sheet, so you choose where it ends up. Any copy left inside Remsy stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. The import feature reads only the file you pick. Import always asks you to confirm before replacing anything already on the device. Neither involves any network transfer.
When you share a link or a piece of text into Remsy from another app, that content becomes a nudge and is stored on your device exactly like one you typed yourself. Nothing is sent anywhere.
4. Notifications
Remsy uses local notifications scheduled on your device to remind you of your reminders. No push notification service is used, and no device token is sent anywhere. Notifications are optional. If you decline the permission, Remsy will not send you any reminders, but everything else keeps working: creating, editing and completing nudges, the calendar, and export and import. You can turn notifications on later in iOS Settings.
5. Purchases (Remsy Plus)
If you subscribe to or purchase Remsy Plus, the payment is processed entirely by the app store you downloaded Remsy from (for example, Apple's App Store). We never see your payment details.
Remsy uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) as a processor to check whether Remsy Plus is active and to show current prices. This check runs each time you open Remsy, for every user, whether or not you have ever purchased anything. RevenueCat receives the store purchase receipt (empty if you have not purchased) together with a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID that the RevenueCat software creates on your device. This ID is not linked to your identity, we never send RevenueCat your name or email address, and we do not combine it with any other data. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) where you hold a subscription or lifetime purchase, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in restoring purchases and displaying accurate prices) otherwise. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Transfer outside the EU. RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States, so this check involves a transfer of personal data to a third country. The transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission, which form part of our data processing agreement with RevenueCat, together with the additional safeguards described in RevenueCat's privacy policy linked above.
How long it is kept. RevenueCat retains the anonymous app user ID and the associated purchase record for as long as the subscription or lifetime purchase is active and afterwards for as long as we need it to handle restores, refunds, tax and accounting obligations. Your reminders are not part of this: they stay on your device and are deleted when you delete them or remove the app.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because Remsy does not collect personal data, in practice there is usually nothing for us to disclose or delete. Your data stays on your device and under your control. Portability is already built in: the in-app export feature lets you save all of your data to a file at any time, and the import feature lets you load that file into Remsy, including on another device. For any request, contact info@softailed.com.
7. Children
Remsy does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or external content feeds.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Remsy handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
