The short version: Pomini has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your timer history stays on your device. Two narrow things touch a server: the purchase verification Apple and RevenueCat perform when you buy Pomini Pro, and a small relay of ours that keeps the lock screen card current during a session and deletes everything when the session ends. Optional features you explicitly turn on (Apple Health, calendar sync, app blocking) write only into your own device.
Who we are
Pomini is published by Fenger Digital GmbH, Wiesenstraße 6, 49074 Osnabrück, Germany ("we"). We are the controller for any processing described here. You can reach us at info@softailed.com.
What stays on your device
Everything Pomini does with your focus work stays local:
- Sessions, statistics, tasks, tags and all settings are stored only on your device.
- Session alarms are local notifications, scheduled on your device, whenever notifications are allowed. The countdown card on your lock screen, which also carries the alarm sound when notifications are off, is the one exception, described in the next section.
- If you use app blocking, your selection of allowed apps is held as opaque Screen Time tokens provided by iOS. These tokens never leave your device, and by Apple's design we could not read which apps they refer to even on the device itself.
Beyond the relay described in the next section, we operate no server for Pomini, and the app sends us no usage data, no crash reports and no identifiers.
Live Activity updates
The countdown card on your lock screen is a Live Activity. While the app is closed, iOS only changes what the card shows if a server asks Apple to push the change. To make the card move to the next phase on time, the app sends three things to a small relay we operate on Cloudflare Workers when a session starts: the push token Apple issues for that one card, the planned boundary times of the session, and the prepared card contents for each boundary (the card's titles, the name of the alarm sound it should play, and, if you picked a task, that task's name). The relay holds these, hands each update to Apple at its moment, and does nothing else with them.
The relay deletes this data when the session chain ends, and whenever you pause, reset or skip, because the app then withdraws or replaces the schedule. It receives no account, no usage data and no identifier beyond that rotating push token, which Apple scopes to the single card and retires with it. When notifications are allowed, session alarms remain local notifications scheduled on your device and do not depend on the relay. When they are not, the alarm sound arrives with the card update instead, so the relay is what carries it. The legal basis is performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): running the timer you started.
Purchases (Pomini Pro)
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. To unlock Pro across reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure provider, as our processor. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt and a random app-generated identifier; it does not receive your name, email address or any content from the app. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy. The legal basis is performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Optional features you can turn on
- Apple Health: if you enable it, Pomini writes your completed focus sessions to Apple Health as mindful minutes. This is write-only; Pomini never reads anything from Health. The data goes into your own Health store on your device, under Apple's Health privacy protections, and you can revoke access in the Health app at any time.
- Calendar sync: if you enable it, Pomini adds your finished sessions as events to a calendar you choose. The events are created in your own calendar account; Pomini reads only the list of your calendars to let you pick one.
- App blocking: uses Apple's Screen Time framework on your device, as described above. Nothing about it is transmitted anywhere.
Each of these is off until you turn it on, asks for the corresponding iOS permission when you do, and can be turned off again in Pomini's settings and in iOS Settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold no personal data about you on any system of ours (the relay keeps only the short-lived session data described above and deletes it when the session ends), most of these rights are fulfilled on your own device: deleting the app deletes your data, and the reset option inside the app deletes your statistics. Children
Pomini is not directed at children under 16, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If a future version of Pomini changes what is processed (for example an optional sync feature), this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.
